On October 19, 2024, a wine tour took place on the legendary Blue Arrow of the BLS Foundation. The journey led from Bern through the picturesque 3-lake region, past Lakes Murten, Neuchâtel and Biel. The highlight of the trip was an exclusive tasting of top wines from three local wineries, accompanied by a first-class aperitif that left nothing to be desired. The BCFe 4/6 736 “Blue Arrow” is a nostalgic double railcar built in 1938 in the New Objectivity style with a timelessly modern appearance thanks to its streamlined front. With a capacity for 136 passengers, it offers a unique all-round view thanks to its large windows, and the bench seat next to the driver is particularly popular. Originally built for the BLS Group, it was finally acquired by the BLS Foundation after several conversions and deployments and is used for special trips. The BLS-Historic Foundation collects, maintains and presents the historical heritage of BLS and its predecessor railroads. It enables the public to experience the history of BLS at first hand by using historic vehicles for special trips and events.
