STEVE COLEMAN "Little Willie Leaps" duo with Marcus Gilmore

This is my first video document about Steve's music. Made in 2004-2005, this was featured as a DVD for the album Weaving Symbolics released on Label Bleu Records in 2006. This duet took place while the group was rehearsing in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. All musicians were about to take a break when, out of the blue Steve started playing the melody for "Little Willie Leaps". Marcus Gilmore took on this opportunity to join Steve and they performed an incredible but relaxing version of this Miles Davis classic. As written in the Liner Notes : "The addition of the DVD portion is to give the listener a visual perspective of the people who have helped in performing this music, along with some small insight of our approach.
