Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Highlights from the NHRA New England Nationals presented by bproauto

In addition to the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series action at the NHRA New England Nationals presented by bproauto, eight winners were crowned in Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series action at New England Dragway. Joe Carnasciale successfully defended his 2025 Epping Comp title with a final-round win over Division 2 champ Monty Bogan. Carnasciale gave up a lead at the start but prevailed with a (-.582) 8.898 for his fourth career win. Moments after losing the Stock final, Shane Oakes came through with a win in Super Stock by defeating Joe Lisa. Oakes was .007 on the Tree and ran 9.729 on his 9.70 dial. Shane Oakes was in line for a possible double in Epping, but Todd Bednaz had other ideas in the bfinal. Bednaz was solid with a .010 light and a 10.758 against his 10.74 dial. Transmission builder Jack Sepanek now has five NHRA national event Wallys after scoring a narrow 8.907 to 8.916 decision against Vincent Nobile in the Super Comp final. Charlie Kenopic was solid on the starting line throughout Super Gas eliminations, including a .002 in the final that helped fuel a 9.893- to-9.889 double-breakout win against Rick Mattioli in the final. Epping regular Jason Mazzotta took home the win in Super Street following a final round win against Michael Giuliano. Mazzotta’s strong of .00 lights highlighted the win. A week before her high school graduation, Ava Meloni became a first-time NHRA national event winner in Right Trailers Top Dragster. Meloni scored the win after Paul Neal fouled in the final.
