Onam Celebrations 2025 | Grand Pageantry and Light Show in Thiruvananthapuram

Kerala’s annual Onam Week Celebrations 2025 transformed the capital city, Thiruvananthapuram, into a dazzling stage of tradition, culture, and festivity. Inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and presided over by Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas, the week-long celebrations were held at 33 venues across the city. Director-actor Basil Joseph and Tamil actor Jayam Ravi were among the special guests, adding star presence to the inaugural event. The grand cultural pageantry on September 9 featured 150 floats and Pulikali, Oppana, Panchavadyam and martial arts performances. The iconic figure of Maveli was yet another highlight of the event that was conducted following the Green Protocol set in place by the Department of Tourism.
