Wooden Phone Holder / Stand V2

This is a wooden phone holder / stand project, it’s the second version I’ve made. The first version was made about a year ago and there is a separate video for it on my channel, it works good and even made several as gifts. But I wanted to make a second version with some improvements: 1) The first version is a bit bulky, bigger than necessary. This second version much smaller, it’s 3” long x 2 5/8” wide x 5/8” thick and small enough to fit in your pocket. It’s made of black walnut with a clear gloss lacquer finish. Just like the first version the finish looks great, much better in my opinion than commercial stands made of plastic or metal. The phone fits in like this, it holds good in these two hook features. The holder doesn’t have a positive locking feature to hold the phone, I may incorporate that on a future version. 2) The first version placed the Smartphone higher up off the table, the reason being so that it could be charged with the phone in the vertical orientation where the cable is facing downward. But what I found was that I don’t use the vertical orientation when it’s on the holder. So the second version is low to the ground and is optimized for horizontal orientation though it can still be used vertically. 3) The first version has a fixed viewing angle, but sometimes this wasn’t optimal so the second version has an adjustable viewing angle. Was thinking this may be a small good DIY gift idea and so I made up a bunch of them give out as gifts. There is a dimensioned Sketchup 3D CAD model available if interested.
