Is drinking from the common cup safe?
According to the CDC, the National Center for Biotechnology Information, and evidence from centuries of church history, drinking from the common cup is actually quite safe! Chalices are made from precious metals which have antimicrobial properties, they are wiped after each person drinks, and the alcohol in the communion wine kills germs as well. We trust that in the Lord’s sovereignty he’s protected and will continue to preserve his people as they receives his sacrament.
