Maudsley Talks Lecture 3 - Geopolitical Determinants of Mental Health - Professor Dinesh Bhugra

As a world-renowned authority on mental health and recipient of many honours, Professor Bhugra used his lecture to explore social determinants of mental health and the impacts of climate change. The talk was a deep dive into the political, economic, commercial, cultural and geographical determinants of mental health. Professor Bhugra explored the impacts climate change, natural disasters, political systems and policies, our geography and culture have on our mental health. He touched on a holistic view of the effect the environment we each live, work and play in can shape us – and the importance of having fun! He concluded by sharing his ideas for how to approach some of these impacts through policy and in psychiatric practice.
