More ASMR Maps (soft speaking, tracing, pointing)

Hello friends! For some reason, the views for the “ASMR Maps” video have outstripped everything else on my channel, as have the requests for a maps follow-up. I really appreciate your interest and your requests, and I hope you enjoy this second soft-spoken journey through various map types as much as the first. I start off by looking at one of the state atlases that DeLorme produces, followed by a vintage USGS map. The latter allows me to talk about about how time- and artistically-intensive it used to be to map topographic contours in the field by hand. Then I move on to photogrammetric methods using aerial photos, and I show you four items that illustrate the steps in the process of creating an orienteering map, from aerial photos, to base map, to field checking, to the final map. Ultimately, I hope that I've shone a light on the fact that many steps and many talents and skills are needed behind the scenes to bring us this kind of data - that is often simply taken for granted by us, the consumers. I know this approach is a little different from the first maps video, but I hope you find it an enjoyable and relaxing follow-up!
