Documentaire | Tiken Jah Fakoly, malien par choix

In June 2022, we followed the activist artist Tiken Jah Fakoly through the streets of Bamako for a documentary about his deep connection to Mali. In this report, Tiken Jah Fakoly revisits the vestiges of Pan-Africanism still visible in the Malian capital, through the names of squares, avenues, and boulevards that tell a part of the continent's political and ideological history. The artist also expresses his sincere love for the Malian people, whose political culture, civic engagement, and hospitality he praises. Deeply attached to Mali, a country he considers a welcoming home, he discusses the major investments he has made there, particularly in the tourism and agriculture sectors. Accepted and embraced by the Malian people, Tiken Jah Fakoly affirms his indebtedness to this nation that has offered him much more than just a place to live: a true sense of belonging.
