A little further on, I spotted nimble lizards darting deftly between the rocks, basking in the sun. There were also more serious encounters: on a warm rock, I spotted a pair of snakes calmly basking in the sun's rays, showing no aggression. The climb to the summit wasn't easy, but the view that opened up was worth it. From the heights of Kashka-Tau, a panorama of the Zainsk region valley stretched out before me: small river valleys, green forests, fields, hills, and the town of Zainsk. I stood there for a long time, soaking up this beauty and listening to the birdsong. A surprise awaited me on one of the rocky headlands: the remains of an ancient Bulgar settlement with a moss-covered rampart. According to local legend, Tamerlane himself once spent the night here before his campaign to Samarkand. Standing on this historic site, I felt like I was breathing the breath of time. Descending further, I peered into the abandoned Bagryazhskoye forestry. The overgrown paths and silence created the feeling of a lost world. I noticed animal tracks in the surrounding area—foxes, roe deer, and elk live here. The hike ended at a spring with crystal-clear water. I drank and stood for a moment, feeling completely at one with nature. Kashka-Tau amazed me with its combination of wild beauty, history, and the vibrant world around it.
