Il progetto “Unico Metropolitano” si estende a tutti i comuni della Città metropolitana

Mayor Sara Funaro announced after meeting with the mayors of the various metropolitan municipalities: a single integrated travel ticket for all metropolitan public transport, with progressive discounts based on distance from the capital. The 'Unico Metropolitano' project will extend to all municipalities in the metropolitan city of Florence: residents will thus be able to purchase a single integrated travel ticket to travel within the area on all local public transport, including urban and suburban buses, trams, and trains. Until now, the trial launched in 2019 allowed a single travel ticket to travel between Florence and eight municipalities in the so-called Florentine belt. Soon, thanks to a €2 million allocation from the Metropolitan City for a 30-month trial, this option will be extended to all 41 municipalities in the metropolitan area, significantly reducing costs for commuters and students. Discounts will be progressively applied based on distance from the capital: the discount will be 12% in the areas closest to Florence and 24% in the areas furthest from the city. The announcement comes on the sidelines of a meeting convened by Metropolitan City Mayor Sara Funaro with the mayors of all the metropolitan municipalities.
