How lighting affects colors. And how a diamond retailers trick you into buying a diamonds with a bad color. Color happens to be the C that if I were buying a diamond on a budget for my diamond I would cut back on. Let me put up a Diamond what color is this? Do you even care when it is sparkling that much? Now lets put that diamond next to 2 other diamonds. Do you care now? Or are you still Looking at how sparkly it is. This is what is interesting about colors. Diamond retailers use lights to show off how sparkly a diamond is so you normally don't pay attention to the color nor do you care if it sparkles that much. But once you leave the store it will hardly ever be in such flattering light again... if ever, so good bye amazing sparkle. Now, people normally don't notice a diamonds color too much unless it is sitting right next to another diamond. So if you have a solitaire diamond ring the color will not be as important as a diamond ring with a lot of big diamonds next to it for subconscious comparison. In my opinion, if you are on a budget, as long as you stay above a J color it won't look too yellow unless it is sitting next to other more colorless diamonds, AND your money would be better spent on more carats or better cut to make the sparkle better.
