Kopstukken aflevering 103: Jos Apeldoorn in gesprek met Ruud Bredewold

In this episode of *Kopstukken*, Ruud Bredewold speaks with a well-known resident of Egmond: Jos Apeldoorn. He is a visual artist, wood sculptor, painter, and writer. During the conversation, Jos takes the viewer on a journey through his childhood in Egmond-Binnen, where he grew up in a large family and was introduced to craftsmanship at an early age. The atmosphere of the village, the family business, and the people around him formed the foundation for a life in which creativity began to play an increasingly important role. *History in sculptures and paintings* What began amidst wood, tools, and blueprints grew into an impressive artistic career. His work can now be found in many places and is characterized by a strong connection to nature, history, and the environment in which he grew up. Jos also talks about the special moments that shaped him, the people who were important to him, and the choices he made along the way. In addition, his love for the history of Egmond-Binnen is discussed, which he captures not only in sculptures and paintings but also in his publications about the village. Despite his age, Jos is still full of plans. Making art, collecting stories, cycling, and staying involved in village life: sitting still does not seem to be in his vocabulary. A warm, personal, and inspiring conversation with a man who has been leaving his own mark on Egmond-Binnen for decades. During this episode, visual artist Pauline Bakker once again creates a unique clay portrait of the guest, as is customary in the program.
