A special in-depth analysis of the constitutional referendum of March 22 and 23, 2026, designed to provide citizens with an additional tool to guide their decision-making ahead of the vote. The referendum concerns the proposed constitutional reform on the separation of careers between judicial and prosecuting magistrates, a central issue for the functioning of the Italian justice system. This proposal, having failed to secure a two-thirds majority in Parliament, is now being submitted directly to the citizens for their opinion. In the studio, we compared two different positions to delve into the debate and truly understand what's at stake: Mattia Franceschelli, Democratic Party group leader in the City Council, and Claudia Balboni, member of the Fratelli d'Italia coordination committee in Cento. Through direct discussion, we analyzed, in a clear and accessible way, the reasons for voting Yes and the reasons for voting No, seeking to go beyond slogans and simplifications to delve deeper into the content, consequences, and visions of a reform that directly affects the judicial system.
