Visualizing Corner Hides

Corner hides can be rather challenging for our dogs to tackle, but why? A big part of the issue has to do with us as handlers. We struggle with understanding how dynamic the odor picture can be when a hide is set within a corner or when odor is traveling to a corner. There is a way to overcome this: by using visualization tools. These tools allow us to conceptualize what the odor may do in certain situations and better appreciate just how challenging a given odor puzzle may truly be for our dogs. When watching this video, ask yourself: Where is the odor traveling and what is it interacting with? How will the dog gain access to the odor plume as they tackle the search?
