☀️ Today I'm sharing another little piece of our simple and happy routine here in the countryside, in southern Minas Gerais. The vlog begins in the late afternoon, when Edivaldo went to grind sugarcane to prepare a delicious, fresh guarapa (a type of Brazilian rum). Meanwhile, I took the opportunity to water the garden a bit and tend to the plants. The next day, we continued with another day of work. We went to the drying yard to watch Edivaldo and Gabriel load the dried coffee onto the cart to take it to the dryer's hopper, where the coffee goes through the cleaning machine before moving on to the next stages. I also showed a little of our family traditions. My father-in-law milking cows, cutting banana leaves, and my mother-in-law preparing the famous "pau a pique," a typical recipe made with cornmeal, peanuts, and rapadura (unrefined cane sugar), wrapped in banana leaves and cooked just the way we learned from our elders. It's a simple video, full of work, tradition, country flavors, and moments that are part of our life in the countryside.
