This Michigan Drive-In Feels Frozen in Time-Little VInnys
📍4228 Point Aux Peaux Road, Newport, Michigan 48166 This week I visited Little Vinnys in Newport, Michigan, located at 4228 Point Aux Peaux Road, Newport, Michigan 48166. I ordered the cheeseburger, a chili dog, onion rings, their homemade root beer, and I tried their funnel cake fries, which absolutely blew my mind. Everything was delicious and the staff there was amazingly friendly. The order came out quick, even though I did have to wait a little while for a parking spot because the place was busy. Once I got in though, the food came out fast and the whole experience was definitely worth checking out. There’s just something special about old school Michigan drive-ins that instantly takes you back in time, and Little Vinnys really captures that feeling. From the moment I pulled in, you could feel the nostalgia. The sounds of people talking in the parking lot, the smell of burgers and chili dogs cooking on the grill, and everybody cruising in for a root beer on a warm Michigan day made it feel like stepping into a classic summer memory. The cheeseburger was exactly what you want from a drive-in burger. Simple, juicy, flavorful, and packed with that old school burger stand flavor that’s getting harder and harder to find these days. The chili dog was loaded with flavor and paired perfectly with their homemade root beer, which honestly might have been one of my favorite things of the entire visit. It had that rich, smooth, classic taste that instantly reminded me why homemade root beer hits so different from the bottled stuff. The onion rings were crispy, golden brown, and had that perfect crunch. But the biggest surprise of the entire trip had to be the funnel cake fries. I had never tried anything quite like them before and they completely caught me off guard in the best possible way. Sweet, crispy, fresh, and insanely addictive. Those alone are worth making the trip for. One thing I always appreciate when I visit local spots like this is good people, and the staff at Little Vinnys were incredibly friendly from start to finish. Even with the lot packed and cars constantly rolling in, they kept everything moving smoothly and made everybody feel welcome. You can tell this is one of those local places people genuinely love and support. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy making these videos so much. Michigan is full of hidden gems and classic spots like this that deserve attention. Places like Little Vinnys are part of what makes Michigan food culture so special, and it’s always exciting to share these experiences with all of you.
