In questo intervento, Caterina Sarfatti, Direttrice del Programma globale “Inclusive Climate Action” di C40 Cities, racconta come una transizione ecologica sia possibile solo se giusta e inclusiva, solo se capace di mettere al centro i bisogni e i desideri delle donne. Why are women hit the hardest by the impacts of climate change and at the same time have a critical role in tackling it? In this speech, Caterina Sarfatti, Inclusive Climate Action Programme Director at C40 Cities, tells us how the only possible ecological transition is just and inclusive: one that puts at its heart the needs and desires of women. Caterina Sarfatti, 37 anni, è Direttrice del Programma Globale “Inclusive Climate Action” di C40 Cities, la rete internazionale di sindaci impegnati nel contrastare la crisi climatica. Ha lavorato per organizzazioni non governative italiane e francesi per la difesa dei diritti dei migranti e dei rifugiati. Esperta di politiche urbane e processi multilaterali, guida un team internazionale di quasi 20 persone che supporta le città nel pianificare e implementare politiche ambientali giuste, inclusive e socialmente sostenibili. Ha lavorato alle relazioni internazionali nel gabinetto del sindaco di Milano Giuliano Pisapia. Caterina Sarfatti, 37 years old, serves as Director of the Inclusive Climate Action programme in C40 Cities, a global leadership network of mayors at the forefront of tackling the climate crisis. Previously, Caterina served as advisor in the Mayor's Offices in Milan, under Giuliano Pisapia. She also worked for italian and french non governmental organisations focused on the protection and legal support of migrants and asylum seekers. Caterina leads and manages global initiatives on local green new deals, climate and migration, gender inclusive climate action and just transition.
