The equipment has different characteristics and the speakers are located in different places inside the car, which is why adjustment is so important to keep everything in balance. The first thing to do before starting the adjustment is to identify how many, which ones, and where the speakers are in the car. Most of the time the car has 4 speakers, 2 in the front doors and 2 more in the rear doors or trunk lid. Sometimes the system also includes a subwoofer. Assuming the system has 4 speakers distributed throughout the car's interior plus the subwoofer, then the adjustment should begin with balancing the door speakers. Find a song with well-pronounced instrumental and vocals; we'll use this same song until the end of the tests. Raise the volume to a level slightly above the average and notice that naturally the sound is stronger in the front, overpowering the rear sound. This is normal because the front speakers are closer to the driver's ear. To solve this, we must go to the radio's fader settings and direct the sound power further back until we feel that the sound has the same intensity in the back and in the front. After adjusting the power of the door speakers, then turn on the subwoofer. If it's connected to the radio's specific subwoofer output, even better. Set the radio volume to the same level as before and adjust the subwoofer intensity until you notice that the bass sound is not overpowering the voice from the door speakers, nor is the bass so weak as to go unnoticed. This adjustment will vary greatly depending on the customer's taste, so it's a good idea to do this part with the customer inside the car or show them the possibility of varying the intensity of the bass sound according to their preference. With all the system gains balanced, it's time for equalization. This can be done directly on the radio if it has the feature. In the case of multimedia systems, there is even a graphical interface to make it easier to visualize what is being configured. It is very important to make it clear that this equalization setting is not for making the sound louder, but rather for increasing the intensity of a specific frequency of the sound. The equalizer has several specific frequency points where it can add or subtract gain; the more adjustment points, the better. These points are called "bands." The bands start at lower frequencies and move to higher frequencies, with the lowest representing the bass sound, the mid-range representing the voice sound, and the highest representing the high-pitched and shrill sound. Listening to that same song with a lot of instrumental and vocals that was used before, start adjusting the equalizer bands to understand exactly what type of sound it influences. Notice which of these types of sound is very strong in the song and lower it on the equalizer. Similarly, notice which one is very low in the song and raise it on the equalizer. There's no point in raising all the equalization levels because that would be the same as raising the volume of the sound, so try to move each band a little, at most 2 of them with greater movement. Dedicate some time to sound equalization because this is the final touch that gives all the shine to the work done in the car, and customers like that.
