NEWLY REPLACED! KONE EcoDisc MRL Traction Elevators at The Residence Inn Downtown, Tampa, FL

Filmed in February of 2021. Well guys, I know you've been waiting for me to upload a video of the ThyssenDover's after their recent replacement by none other than my (least) favorite company, KONE! And as you can see, just as I stated in my video last year, this is indeed a TOTAL Replacement! New Cabs, New Panels, New DOOR TRACKS, New Interlocks, etc. and the old machines were TOTALLY torn out of their existing machine rooms and these are now EcoDisc MRLs! All that remains the same is the outside doors, and had I known nothing about this place, I would've probably assumed these elevators were original and that the ThyssenDovers were NEVER HERE that's how heavily these were modernized! As for my opinion regarding the replacement, it's ok.... These have the lovely KONE EcoDisc creaks and are incredibly boring, but the quality of the elevators while not amazing is actually quite better than I expected. That said, It is STILL absolutely PATHETIC how these elevators were replaced after a measly 19-20 years of use regardless of who the company modernizing these is. The previous elevators while outdated considering how young they were were in EXCELLENT Shape and could've EASILY lasted 30 or more years, but of course, because we're in FLORIDA, they didn't.... Overall, the replacement elevators while not great by any means are OK, I just find it absolutely pathetic that these elevators got replaced at all to begin with.... Original Elevators Installed in 2000 or 2001. (ThyssenDover with Custom Impulse Fixtures, Relay Controlled, 1 was an Overhead Traction, the other was Hydro) Modernized/Replaced in 2020. (KONE with New EcoDisc MRL Motors, New Controllers, KSS 570 Fixtures, New Cabs, New Doortracks, New Interlocks, New Lanterns etc. All that is left of the original elevators is the outer doors.)
