One Thing that makes psychiatric practice difficult is how easy it can be to fake symptoms for secondary gain. In the industry we call this malingering. Majority of patients are not faking symptoms for secondary gain, but we should be aware of situations where someone might attempt to fake symptoms and what we can do about it.
