FDNY Squad Company 18 2nd Piece Support Unit is a 2015 Freighliner M2 with a Ferrara Body. There are a total of 8 Squad Companies and they all have a 2nd Piece. They are a half Rescue Operations and half Hazmat Operations Truck. They are cross staffed by primary squad company with outside team. They are assigned to all Minor and Major Matrix Assignments. (Collapses, Confined Space, Trench, Subway Emergencies, Scaffolding, Water Rescues, Shoring up, Cars into Buildings, Hazmat Calls as a Hazmat Tech Company when a Squad is closer then a Hazmat Tech Engine Company for calls like Lithium Ion Batteries, Leaking Saddle Tanks, Gas Mains Struck, Unknown substances, mercury spills any hazmat incident gets a response of Hazmat 1, Hazmat Battalion and a Hazmat Tech Company. All Squad members are Rescue & Hazmat Tech Level 2. Equipment Carried on most of the Squad 2nd Pieces but not limited to, Stihl Core Cutter, Chainsaw, Paratech Struts, Portsable Air Cart, Hilti Corded Tools, Jack Hammer, Sawzall, Breaker, Core Drill, Nailer, Hammer Drill, Dewalt Circular Saw, Pneumatic Nailer, Zistos Cameras, Slings, Shoring Wood, Gussets, Cribbing, Broco Torch, Generators, Absorbent Pads and Booms, Cell Block, Speedy Dry, Soda Ash, Leak Seal Kits, Mercury Spill Kits, Nolan Rail Cart, Trench Panels, Chem Tape, Isolation Suites, Halogen Meter, Spotting Scope, Freon Meter, Friskers, Mercury Meter, Identifiner, Screening Kits, Overpack drums, decon pools, non-sparking tools, repair kits, Decon Tent, Decon Pools, Hazmat Level A & B Suites, PAPARS, Comms and other rescue & hazmat equipment. Squad 1 would handle that.
