The Harley Benton SC-Custom III and the SC-DLX Gotoh: A comparison of two excellent guitars.

Dive into the world of affordable excellence with this comparison of two of Harley Benton's most popular single-cut models: the SC-DLX Gotoh and the SC-Custom III! 🎸 The daphne blue DLX Gotoh was from a limited run. Presently (2025), you can only find them in used guitar marketplaces. The purple burst Custom III can be purchased new at Harleybenton.com, or on the Harley Benton USA website, which is hosted at Reverb.com. The Custom 3 is available in several other colors, including white (with active pickups), desert burst, lemon flame, ocean flame, black (multiple pickup options), satin paradise, and a gold top. The ocean flame models can vary in hue from a vibrant blue to a color that looks mostly green. Communicate with a Harley Benton representative directly if you want to order one of those finishes. I actually communicated with Harley Benton, expressing that if they bring back the DLX series, it would be nice to see a dark burgundy sparkle finish. I also think a gold champagne finish would be awesome. Additionally, it would be cool to see a "DLX" logo on the headstock, beneath the Harley Benton logo. My DLX and my Custom III are both impressive instruments. For the distortion tones, I used Guitar Rig 7, with the "mostly clean firestarter" setting, Chow Centaur, and the Ujam Finisher with the cabinet setting.
