Galaga [Class of '81 - Fast Fire] - Arcade - 8,635,440 (602 Stages - 1 MAN!!!)

Played at Dave & Busters in Orlando. Boy did I have the game of my life! But it came with a price. Allow me to explain. I have 2 Android phones I brought with me to Dave & Busters for recording. My Samsung S6 Edge+ was the one used for recording, and my main phone is my LG Aristo. The Samsung isn't activated, so I only use it for other things (i. e. videos, pictures, games, etc.). So I set my Samsung up in hardware I had that mounts to the marque and aims my phone down to the screen. I hit record and start my game. Perfect. Everything seems to be going well. At least that's what I thought. The goal I had in mind was to beat my previous score I set a few weeks back of 5M. Originally I was going to shoot for 10M, but got there late and didn't have enough time (had to take off around 9pm), so I decided I'd shoot for 8M instead and then call it a day. My game was going very well after just over the 2 hour mark. In fact, I was making really good timing and realized that I had just passed the 4M mark and hadn't died yet! In fact, I did the math and came to the conclusion that I just may have enough time to actually get 10M right around 9pm. Now a new goal. But not before all hell broke loose. All of a sudden, my phone goes dark. I play a few more stages to get to the challenging stage so I can assess what happened to my phone. What I found was that my phone was dead as a door nail. Wtf?! I charged it on the way there and disconnected it in my car before I went inside and it was at 100%. So I'm scrambling with my other phone, as I remove the Samsung and put my LG Aristo in its place and hit the start record button as fast as I can, being that the game was continually in progress. There's no way to pause or hide in a "safe spot" to do this stuff. Seconds later, I make an announcement (pissed off to no end mind you, so I apologize for the not-so-clean language used) as to what had happened and basically said there's going to be breaks in my overall video with pieces of my score missing and that it is what it is. I can't do anything about it but to keep on playing. So after about 90 minutes recording with my LG Aristo phone, for some crazy reason, the phone stops recording the video on its own and by the time I noticed it, and then hit the record button again, there were more pieces of my game that I wasn't able to record. This happened several times before the final demise of my game took place. My LG Aristo phone displays a message on the screen telling me that my memory is full and to delete files. Are you F*cking kidding me?!!!! So once again, I had to get to a safe spot (a challenging stage) so I can try and navigate my phone's storage and delete some files so I can start recording again. But during the interim, I lost focus and died. So after yelling out some expletives, I let the joystick go and killed my entire game off. Why you’re asking? Well, I was having the game of my life. No really. I was at a point in my game where I had passed the 8M mark and STILL hadn't died yet!!! I beat my personal best highest score on a set of "dual" ships of 7.2M a year ago on MAME. When I filled up the memory on my LG phone, I had around 8.6M and was amped to easily reach 10M without dying. On ONE man! But it never happened. I wasn't able to achieve my revised goal which was not to score 8M, (I had already done that), but to reach 10M on man 1, without dying. So once I had my 1st death, my new goal went right into the toilet. So the video I basically uploaded in its totality, is about 98-99% of the entire game. I took both my phones home and removed all the files and had to splice them together to make one full video, the best I could. There were more than I anticipated (8 total) that I pieced together. I figured out the total number of points that I wasn't able to capture, which was a measly 260,590 points across the 8 videos. That's less than 1/3rd of a % of my overall score. I can live with that. So my apologies to those that expected to see a 100%, fully recorded, un-cut, high quality video of my performance, which never saw fruition. It just means I will have to attempt it yet again another day, but will definitely be better prepared (both phones will be completely empty storage wise. I will have a 64GB Micro SD card in my Samsung (already have a 32GB in my LG Aristo) and I will have a fully charged portable battery back-up by my side, just in case. :) All in all, I hope you enjoy this video. It clearly showcases the best of my skills after 36 years of continuously playing this game. If you do, please hit that subscribe button and share it with as many people as you can!! :)
