The gnats often group together up to several dozen individuals, forming real clusters, even in full flight, and it is not uncommon to see trout jump out of the water to grap this big "bite " with a slightly heavier flight... Griffith's famous "Gnat" was designed for this purpose... The glowing effect of midge wings (like ants..) is accentuated when grouped together and is shown here with the micro flash. The tying is simple, but you have to be careful not to damage the foam with the thread wraps (especially the nano silk!), tightening gradually... The hackles must here also be black, Natural, and taken at the base of the rooster's necks,the smallest feathers, these can easily be wrapped 2 by 2... Les moucherons se regroupent souvent jusqu'en plusieurs dizaines d'individus, formant de véritables amas , même en plein vol, et il n'est pas rare de voire les truites sauter hors de l'eau pour s'emparer de cette grosse "bouchée" au vol un peu plus alourdi...Le célèbre "Gnat " de Griffith à été conçu à cet effet... Ce n'est donc qu'après avoir présenté mon imitation de moucheron simple (   • Tying a winged paraloop midge pattern (dry...   ) et si celle ci est refusée , ( même si le plus souvent ce sera dû à la présentation et aux micro- dragages ! ) que j'essaye une imitation de moucheron- double ou plus comme ici en cluster... Il m'est arrivé que certains jours les poissons ne prenaient que ces imitations, et de très belles truites que j'observais , postées juste sous la surface, leurs ont succombées... A partir de 4 moucherons représentés , j'utilise la mousse de 1 mm , car la densité trop importante d'autres matériaux pour les corps, nuirait à la flottabilité...; en la divisant en 2 ,les abdomens font ainsi environ moins d’1 mm d'épaisseur comme l'est celui de mon moucheron en taille # 22 cité précédemment... L''effet brillant des ailes de moucherons ( comme des fourmis..) est accentué quand ils sont regroupés et il est bien représenté ici avec le micro flash.. Le montage est simple , mais il faut veiller à ne pas endommager la mousse avec les enroulements du fil de montage ( surtout la nano silk !), en serrant progressivement ... Les hackles doivent ici aussi être de couleur noire ,Naturelle de préference, et pris à la base des cous de coq ,parmi les plus petits, ceux ci pouvant facilement être enroulés 2 par 2 ...
