Kayblis: 6000 Years of Fear – Rance X Scene

Heavy Spoilers Ahead. A good story needs a good villain and Kayblis is one of the best. If you plan on experiencing the Rance series for yourself, please hold off on watching this video. It shall wait for you until you're ready. This is part 1 of my favorite scene in the game, perhaps the entire series: I consider it to be the buildup to the climax. I cannot bring myself to release the payoff, as it would be a disservice to all Rance fans — spoiling what this scene sets up. If you decide to watch this video however, please enjoy, knowing you'll get to experience even more someday. This scene is a treasure trove of lore and world-building. There are passion projects and there are... soul projects. Passion can be reined in and tamed. It can be channeled and focused, but the soul is another thing entirely. It merely「is」. This video mirrors my soul, and thus it is full of imperfections — wholly unfit to be a translation perhaps, yet here we are. Pfft. I bet you're wondering what the heck I'm talking about, right? Well, basically I really enjoy this scene and I decided to add some flair to it. Ah, don't worry! The essence is still intact! The rest of what I'm saying is just nonsense to sound cool and ominous. Working on this was something else... for some reason, I find myself oddly motivated by Kayblis' story. Something about it — yearning to be a shark, but ending up as a warped squirrel — is too gripping. This scene is awesome in many, many, many ways. All of them a testament to this series' transcendental qualities. Hm... I really love the Rance series and this game. Kayblis' story is great. Sorry if my soul went a bit too wild at times, the official translation shall rectify my follies. After this, I need a break. I'm so glad I was able to share this scene with you all.
