The Mirror of Illusion — From Illusion to the Christ Mind | “Ye Are Gods”

This track is centred around Jesus’ true message — going back to what he actually said and expressing it directly through music. Originally written as a rap back in January, this version came together later through a full rewrite and production. A lot of this came from sitting with these teachings and finding my own way of expressing them. The song explores identity, the idea of the “separate self,” and the shift into the Christ mind — not as belief, but as something lived. Some of the lines are drawn directly from scripture: “The kingdom ain't out there It's the depth of your core” → Luke 17:21 → not a place you reach, but a state of consciousness you recognise “The letter killeth The spirit revives” → 2 Corinthians 3:6 → truth isn’t in the words themselves, it’s in what they point you to directly “Whitewashed tombs, all polished and grand But inside, dust and bone is all that stands” → Matthew 23:27 → outward structure can look “right” while something inside is still unresolved “They strain at a gnat, yet a camel they swallow” → Matthew 23:24 → focusing on small outer details while missing what actually matters “He wasn’t the exception — he showed the design” → John 10:34 / Psalm 82:6 → “ye are gods” isn’t symbolic, it’s pointing at identity → John 14:12 → if what he did can be done, then it’s not exclusive “He who seeks to save his life shall lose it” → Matthew 16:25 → holding onto identity keeps it in place — letting it go is what opens something deeper “The prison door stood open — it was never closed” → Revelation 3:20 → nothing external is blocking it — it’s about whether it’s recognised or not “I am the Living Christ — and I am MORE” → Philippians 2:5 → not arrival, but alignment with that ongoing movement beyond the fixed self ______________________________________________________________ If this connects with you, feel free to share what stood out in the comments.
