Folar Algarvio de Bater

This Easter bread takes me back to my childhood and to Montenegro (Faro), where I lived until I was 8 years old. It was always my father's favorite Easter bread. Although at home the most popular choice was the Olhão Easter bread that my grandmother Juliana made like no one else, there always had to be one of these for my father, and with a boiled egg inside, otherwise it wasn't really Easter bread 😊. From the family, at least as far as I remember, it was Aunt Alzira who made it. It's a slightly different Easter bread, as it doesn't rise and is made in a mixer instead of being kneaded. It has a strong flavor of spices, anise, and cinnamon that I love so much. Just pay attention when filling the mold, don't fill it more than 2/3 full, otherwise what happened to me will happen to you, which you can see in the video. I warn you, but then I don't follow through! What matters is that this Easter bread is divine and will be on our Easter table.
