Need For Speed Payback - LV399 Mazda RX-7 Race spec unfortunately is not a Regera/RSR killer

Fully Upgraded Level 399 819HP Mazda RX-7 Spirit R FD3S race spec gameplay for Need For Speed Payback. Showcasing it's overall performance in 4 events and 1 online race and 1 free roam race. Performance/Speed Cards and stats + live tuning are shown at the end of the video. Played with keyboard and manual transmission. Timeline: 0:06 - Roaming Racer vs De'Aaron 1:55 - Mountain Run, Sprint Race 4:00 - Multiplayer Casual speedlist, Canyon Sights 6:43 - Silver Lodge Casino, Circuit Race 9:10 - Midnight Run Sprint Race 10:34 - Performance, Stats and Speed Cards + Live Tuning Mazda RX-7 FD3S Race Spec Performance Review: One of the few missing cars that was supposed to be at launch, now being the first one to drip feed us. There is a lot of hype regarding the RX-7 being the next Regera/911 RSR OP cars killer. Is the performance worth the wait? No. First let's quote what Rav says about the RX-7 Spirit R. "This baby is considered one of the best balanced cars of all time". I'm getting DeJa Vu flashbacks from the Camaro video/quote. Lets talk about the good! It has decent engine acceleration but it has strong NOS power making it's overall acceleration strong. Now for the core part of the car, handling. And unfortunately, it's not good. First the car has an overall drift heavy feel. It can take the first corner you approach decently but if there is another corner right after that, the response becomes really heavy and slow. The same slow response happens if you jump slightly (and this actually cost me the online race you see). On top of the heavy response type handling, there is the overall cornering speed. It will lose a lot of speed when the drift angle gets large, especially hairpin turns. The high speed drift angle is very small too making it weak at high speed turns. And then the drift recovery speed, which could be the best and redeeming part of the car. It has very strong drift recovery speed but for whatever reasons, it has a "delay" in getting that speed back. If you compare to the Huracan (and most good drift recovery speed cars) the speed you gain is instant and depends on your drift angle. Especially the Huracan and Murcielago where you can get caught off-guard by the instant surge of speed as your drift angle gets narrow. The RX-7's one is not instant, resulting in the requirement to maintain the drift longer than I need to get my speed back. Any sort of delay in accelerating out of corners cost a lot in terms of lap times. With the poor handling but high acceleration of the car, it's the same category as the Aventador and Vulcan. Amazing acceleration, shit handling. Now look back at Rav's quote. Keisuke is disappointed in NFS's portrayal of his beloved car. How does it compare with 911 RSR and Regera: 5 seconds slower than 911 RSR in Mountain Run. The RX-7 may have good acceleration but it's overall handling and cornering speed is just too weak to keep up.
