In this video, we take you inside an incredible house designed by a South African architect based in London. Jennifer Beningfield opened the doors of her vacation home in the small town of Prince Albert to us. She explains how she designed and built this dwelling in the semi-desert of the Karoo to be both comfortable and energy-efficient. There's no air conditioning or heating, even though temperatures range from -5 to 40 degrees Celsius! Besides being a beautiful creation, this house tells a story and draws inspiration from the town's oldest buildings. It was a fantastic discovery for us, full of insights into contemporary, low-tech, and local architecture in South Africa. WHO ARE WE? We are both architects and, unsurprisingly, passionate about architecture. But that's not the only passion that unites us, because since we met, we've taken every opportunity to explore new places. For us, architecture and travel are first and foremost about emotions. It's these emotions that we place at the heart of our stories and creations.
