Keeping You Active: Nate Lewis

My name is Nathan Lewis. I'm 17 years old and I play wide receiver and defensive back at Carollwood High School. I got hurt in the fifth game of the season. The first play on defense I was trying to make the tackle and I ended up cutting the wrong way and my knee ended up tweaking. That's when he got hurt. It's kind of the heart of the, and that was actually the heart of the team. So when he got hurt, our defense really suffered. I think I was in more pain than he was. But he had the injury. At Florida Orthopaedic they examined my knee and got an MRI and it was a torn ACL. And they told me that at first I was gonna have to have surgery. And Dr. Morse, the doctor who operated on me, his son plays on my football team so I felt comfortable. They told me that I was gonna have to work hard for six months, six to eight months recovery. Must have been pretty tough, hard work, but I knew it's gonna pay off, so I'm not worried about it. But he's just, you know, a fast kid. So I mean, once he got rehab in the knee, he's just going to get better. I don't know. I love it. Like I want to play every second of the day. I just want to stay healthy and just be there for my team and keep playing.
