Honda ST1300 Rear Suspension Pre-load Adjuster Maintenance
Over time the hydraulic fluid in the Honda ST1300 Pan European rear suspension pre-load preload adjuster will seep out and result in poor handling. The fix is to add more fluid and remove the air. Its really simple and requires little time and few tools. The standard position for the rear suspension preload adjuster is 7 clicks in. I currently run mine somewhere between 4 and 6 clicks in. The STANDARD Rebound Damping adjustment on the other side is to match up the two dots (one turn out from full clockwise) I run mine slightly Softer when biking solo at 190#. Use your own weight and riding style to determine where the adjustments for rebound damping (dampener) and spring pre-load (preloader).
