One of the biggest milestones in any experimental aircraft build has finally arrived... In this episode we take delivery of our brand-new Lycoming YIO-390 Thunderbolt engine for our Vans RV-14. This isn't just any engine—it's a factory-built Thunderbolt engine with custom paint and finishes built specifically for our airplane. Even better, Lycoming captured incredible behind-the-scenes footage of our engine being assembled, giving us a rare look inside the Thunderbolt build process. Ironically, while you're watching us receive the engine, it's actually been sitting safely in a crate in our garage for almost a year! Life has slowed our RV-14 project down, but we're finally catching everyone up and sharing some of our favorite moments from this major milestone.
