Journey to Claude Monet’s France through the paintings of places he lived and travelled, from the suburbs of Paris to the Mediterranean coast. Guest curator Katie Hanson explores the immediacy of his painterly practice in balance with his suggestion of something more universal, through his own words and photographs from the period. Speaker Katie Hanson, PhD, is Curator of Paintings, Art of Europe, at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Among her recent projects are exhibitions dedicated to Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, as well as the medium of pastel in the age of Impressionism.
