Holz100 Inside • Roomtour auf einer Holz100 Baustelle

With our new format, "Holz100 Inside," we primarily want to showcase the people who live in or build Thoma homes. We're interested in the stories behind the houses—the decisions, thoughts, and experiences of our clients. In this first episode, Elisabeth Thoma, Managing Director and Head of Marketing at Thoma, travels to Upper Bavaria. There, she visits the Buchner company—a family business since 1967 and a Thoma partner since 2002. Stefan Klein guides her through a construction site underway: 165 m² of living space, the ground floor and first floor are already assembled, and the roof truss will follow later that same day. Along the way, Stefan also explains the construction techniques—for example, the 25 cm thick exterior walls connected with beech dowels, entirely without glue or construction chemicals, as well as the thermal milling that creates additional air gaps. Homeowners Evi and Juri also share their journey to building their own timber house: from a year and a half of planning, their decision to build with wood instead of drywall, and why it's important to take your time with certain decisions. The mountain view was a given from the start. A quick note: Elisabeth isn't a professional YouTuber, but she's putting in a lot of effort. We'll definitely get more experienced with each episode. We hope you enjoy our first glimpses and find something helpful. Do you have any questions about the shell construction or the Holz100 assembly? Feel free to leave them in the comments.
