Making a Triode Envelope (Glass work)
This movie shows the envelope and exhaust tube assembly being made for a homemade triode vacuum tube. The small diameter tube is the exhaust for attaching to the vacuum pump. The large diameter tube is the envelope that will contain the electrodes of the triode. Another movie shows the stem assembly being made. The stem is where the glass to metal seals are. It also supports the electrodes. The stem joins to the open end of the envelope.
