Kalahari Resort Texas Review & Tour

If you're thinking about visiting Kalahari Resort in Texas, check out this video! Hi everyone, it's Mindy from Mommy Mouse Clubhouse and in this video, I am going to take you on a quick tour of Kalahari Resort in Round Rock, Texas and show you some of our adventures during our 6-night stay. Please take a minute to hit that subscribe button and turn on notifications so you won't miss any new adventures and let's get started! Lobby Let's start our tour in the beautiful Lobby. This is the hub of the resort and has amazing animal artwork and details. As you enter the lobby, you can head to the right toward the convention center or to the left to get to the indoor water park and amusement park. Check-in for Kalahari was really easy. As soon as we arrived, we used a kiosk to enter all of your information and had our wristbands printed, that are used for a room key and making purchases at the resort. King Bunk Suite We stayed in a King Bunk Suite that can sleep up to 6 guests. As you walk in the room, there is an open closet next to a kitchenette in the living room as well as two chairs and a sleeper sofa, where my 15-year-old slept. In the corner of the living room, there is a small dining table with 3 chairs. Our suite had a room that my boys nicknamed the "Kid Cave" that had a set of bunkbeds, two bean bag chairs, and a tv. it was perfect for my 8 and 12 year old. There is a separate bedroom with a king size bed, two nightstands, and another tv. The bathroom had a shower/tub combination, toilet, sink with a vanity, and complimentary toiletries. Water Park Now, let's take a look at the water park. This water park is HUGE and is included with your stay at Kalahari Resort. They did have day passes for sale for non-guests that were around $50. Resort guests do not need to bring their towels to the water park. When you enter, head over to this desk to check out towels. Tell the employee how many towels you need, then they will scan your wristband. Just make sure to turn them in before leaving or you will be charged $20 per towel. Kalahari requires all children under 48" to wear a life vest for safety. There are plenty of complimentary vests available. One of my 8 year olds favorite parts of the water park was the giant wave pool. There are ton of water slides for the whole family to enjoy. There are a few body slides, a few that require a tube that can fit one or two people, and more extreme slides that use a raft that can fit up to four people. The Tanzanian Twister was one of our favorites because of the free fall into a 7 foot pool at the end. My boys loved this pool with basketball hoops. They spent a lot of time here. Another cool feature of the water park is the Flow Rider My boys also loved the racing slides and the drop slide on the other side of the water park There are a lot of activities for younger kids as well, like the Splashdown Safari, this giant water playground Little ones can also have fun in Tiko's Watering Hole and Coral Cove You can relax in the indoor/outdoor hot tubs and also the lazy river The water park features a couple of adults only areas as well. If you're over 21, you can grab a drink at the Grotto's swim up bar both indoors and outdoors. Tom Foolerys Now let's check out Tom Foolery's the indoor arcade and amusement park! We purchased the Tom Foolery pass for $45 that gave my kids unlimited access to attractions like the ropes course, climbing walls, mirror maze, roller coaster, mini golf, and more throughout our entire stay. It was definitely a great value and I recommend the pass if you plan to stay at Kalahari. Here is the ropes course where my boys spent most of their time. I appreciated the massage chairs right next to the ropes course. Outside Tour Now let's take a walk around the outside of the resort to see some of the animals. Kalahari also has an outdoor pool area with slides, loungers, and basketball hoops, but unfortunately it was closed during our stay. Dining Options Here are some dining options at Kalahari Resort: Double Cut Steak House, Sortino's Italian Kitchen, Cinco Ninos, B-Luxe Grill, Baobab Social, Great Karoo Marketplace, American Provisions, Zulu Grill, The Last Bite, Java Manjaro Fitness Center Laundry One thing I love when traveling is access to a laundry room and Kalahari has laundry rooms available on the 4th, 6th, and 8ths floors. The washer will cost you $1.75 per load and the dryer is $2.00 00:00 Introduction 00:30 Lobby Tour 01:36 King Bunk Suite 02:58 Indoor Water Park 07:33 Tom Foolerys 10:13 Outside Tour 11:23 Outdoor Pool 11:58 Dining Options 14:56 Fitness Center 15:20 Guest Laundry 15:56 Shopping
