This client represents a classic case of someone who’s currently going through Cycle 1️⃣, 2️⃣, and 3️⃣ all at the same time .. which I always warn people about! Let’s break it down 👇 ⸻ 🌀 Cycle 1: The Overlapping Color Trap When you cover your grey 100%, every time you touch up your roots… 🎨 The new color overlaps the old one. ➡️ That overlap builds up and makes your hair darker and darker over time. ➡️ The roots start showing faster because the contrast between white and dark is too strong. ➡️ That harsh demarcation line forces you to return to the salon more often. So now you’re trapped in your first cycle: Overlapping → Darker tone → Harsh line → Frequent visits ⸻ 🔥 Cycle 2: The Highlight Damage Cycle Tired of that dark harsh line, most people add highlights to break it up.
