Fire and Ice: The Archives — Part II

Fire and Ice: The Untold Story — Part II | The Artists Who Brought Frazetta's World to Life When people think of Fire and Ice they naturally think of Frank Frazetta and Ralph Bakshi. But this film was never the work of two imaginations alone. Behind every painted landscape, every animated movement, every unforgettable frame was a team of artists, animators, designers, and craftsmen whose talent helped transform Frank's vision into a new world. In this episode, I wanted to shine a light on some of the incredible people whose contributions deserve to be remembered and celebrated. A heartfelt thank you to James Gurney for generously allowing me to share material from his wonderful blog, Gurney Journey, and for continuing to preserve so much animation history. His insight into the background painting process is invaluable. Special thanks as well to Sean Hannon and Steven E. Gordon for sharing their memories, photographs, artwork, and behind-the-scenes stories. Their firsthand accounts helped make this episode possible and ensure that the legacy of everyone who worked on Fire and Ice continues to live on.
