Honda Civic Si Idler & Tensioner Pulley Replacement DIY (2006 - 2015 Civic Si)

Today we finally diagnose and fix the annoying whining noise on my FB6 Honda Civic Si! After hearing a persistent pulley/bearing noise from the engine bay, I decided to inspect the idler pulley and tensioner pulley to see if they were the cause. In this DIY video, I’ll show you: • How to loosen the serpentine belt • How to test noisy pulleys using compressed air • Differences between the idler pulley and tensioner pulley • OEM pulley replacement process • Torque specs and installation tips • Common mistakes to avoid during installation • Why pulley bearings fail over time This job turned out to be trickier than expected because of the hidden rear bolt behind the tensioner pulley bracket, but we managed to get everything installed properly and torqued down. The new OEM pulleys completely changed the sound of the car and made the engine bay significantly quieter.
