Lyrical Masterpiece from Sicily on Classical Guitar

I left Sicily at eighteen to study music. It took me ten years to record something that actually came from home. "A la Santaninfara" is a lyrical gem from Sicily, arranged for classical guitar by Stefano Vivaldini. The piece traces back to Alberto Favara's "Canti del mare e della terra di Sicilia," a collection of traditional songs gathered across the island in the early 1900s. Stefano found the melody there, brought it onto six strings, and somehow kept that sense of a voice singing underneath the notes. In 20 years of practising the guitar every single day, I had almost never played Sicilian music. The island had stayed in my accent, in the way I cook, in my phone calls home. Not 100% in my hands. Until this piece arrived. I hope you enjoy it!
