Swiss Mp. 43/44 (Suomi KP/-31) SMG VINTAGE TRAINING FILM (EN Subtitles)
This 1944 training film, color-adjusted and subtitled for your enjoyment, shows the essentials of handling the model 1943/44 submachine gun. Initially purchased directly from Tikkakoski, the 9mm caliber Finnish KP/-31 submachine gun was slightly adapted for Swiss domestic license production by Hispano-Suiza in 1944. Adopted as "9mm Maschinenpistole 43/44 - Mp. 43/44", key redesigned features include a simplified barrel jacket construction, improved 50-round magazine follower design, and systematic use of metric threads instead of imperial specifications. These weapons, reputed for their robustness and reliability, would serve until ca. 1976, displaced by the Stgw. 57. Many thanks again to the ZEM for providing the video material.
