【絞り開放F0.95】フォクトレンダー NOKTON 25mm F0.95 Type II マイクロフォーサーズに必須の一本【コシナ北斗連打】

I've finally, finally, finally acquired the COSINA VOIGTLANDER NOKTON 25mm F0.95 Type II, a large-aperture prime lens for Micro Four Thirds. I previously used the Type 1, and I also reviewed this Type 2 a long time ago on a manufacturer loan. I found a really good used one this time, so I bought it for my OM-1 Mark II. It's not dustproof or splashproof, but otherwise, I hardly feel any inconvenience, and I think it's an essential lens for MFT mount. It looks cool too, doesn't it? I think it's a lens that suits the OM SYSTEM 1 series bodies very well. The only difference from the original is the de-click on the aperture ring, so if you're mainly shooting stills, the usability hasn't changed much, which is a good thing. [Full Subtitle Text] Golgo 13, when he was using the older version of his favorite M-16 pistol, waited until it had matured before switching to the newer model. After all, once something has matured, you understand its flaws and how to deal with them. So, when choosing tools, I think it's a good idea to switch to something that's already matured rather than jumping to the latest model. This time, I finally managed to buy the II version. It's the Voigtlander 25mm F0.95 II, a standard lens. The Micro Four Thirds 25mm F0.95 II is a lens that produces a nice bokeh for a Micro Four Thirds lens. And what's more, it's a lens that can focus incredibly close. The scale says it can focus down to 0.17 meters (laughs). 0.17 meters is 17cm. Isn't 17cm incredibly close? I've been using the Type I until now. And finally, I've switched to the Type II. I bought it secondhand, though. It's a lens that's been around for about 10 years now. What's changed in the Type II? Well, the aperture ring usually makes a clicking sound, right? This is interesting...you can de-click it with a whoosh. The markings disappear, and it just stops down smoothly. This makes it less noticeable when shooting video. Even if you suddenly go from a bright to a dark area, you can just quickly adjust the aperture, which is great. I don't shoot that much video, but there's not much else to say. The rest is the same as the Type I. So, let's look at the data I shot. What do you think? The depth of field is very shallow, isn't it? This is at aperture F2. It's a close-focusing lens, so I guess that's why it feels so shallow. It's great, isn't it? I think it produces a soft and atmospheric image. In the Micro Four Thirds system, where many lenses produce very sharp images, this kind of rendering feels refreshing. Even with a camera that uses a tiny sensor, the bokeh in the foreground and background is significant, which is impressive and appealing. Bokeh is definitely a good thing. Having the ability to control the bokeh is very important. Bokeh really enhances the atmosphere; it creates a wonderful ambiance. Conversely, if you stop down the aperture significantly—I think this was F5.6 or F8—when shooting cityscapes, the straight lines of buildings really stand out. It's beautiful. The minimum focusing distance is 0.17 meters, or 17cm. The maximum magnification is approximately 0.25x. While it's not a macro lens, it's a lens that can focus quite close. A large-aperture lens means you can take fast shutter-speed photos even on a slightly cloudy evening. You can freeze the image of flying birds perfectly. Now, the name "Nocton" means "night," so it's naturally strong for night photography. It's a bright lens, after all. This wasn't taken during the day, it was taken at night. It's nice, isn't it? When you shoot with the aperture wide open, it really brings out the charm of an older lens. Now, let's look at the image at the widest aperture of F0.95 and stopped down to F2, alternating between the two. This is the widest aperture, and then F2. Yes, you're seeing them alternately, but even when stopped down two stops, it's still bright. You can still shoot at night perfectly fine. So, it's not just about creating a soft, dreamy effect; you can get a fairly sharp, focused look, and it's perfectly fine for night photography. Even if you stop down to F8 or so, the OM-1 Mark II has very strong image stabilization, so even at night, even if you stop down the aperture instead of shooting wide open, you can still take pictures without any problems by taking advantage of the benefits of Micro Four Thirds. That means it can be used in any situation, day or night. This is something that's difficult to do with full-frame cameras. Including its co...
