Turks Originated and Raised in Turkey The term "Turks" has a complex meaning. Turks are not a people of any one country. While we lived as a single landmass, borders were unclear. They were a dispersed, nomadic people. The first Turks came from the Altai Mountains in Central Asia, on the western border of present-day Mongolia. Turks' ancestry is far beyond any single nationality, and Turks are part of that. In addition to the long history that Turks in Turkey are proud of, they also share many other qualities that make them feel a deep love for their homeland and their Turks-ness.
