Gooseberry Mesa Mountain Biking near Zion National Park | Gander & Gratfon Wash

Welcome back to Where U Beans!? The mountain biking channel where I travel across the Southwest searching for the best singletrack, biggest views, technical challenges, and unforgettable rides. Today, we're wrapping up the fourth and final ride of my Southwestern Utah mountain biking series, and I honestly can't think of a better way to finish than on one of the most iconic mountain bike destinations in the United States—Gooseberry Mesa near Hurricane, Utah. If you've spent any time researching mountain biking in Southern Utah, chances are Gooseberry Mesa has shown up on your radar. Famous for its endless slickrock riding, technical features, incredible desert scenery, and panoramic views of Zion National Park, this place has earned a reputation as a true bucket-list mountain biking destination. Riders from all over the world come here to experience the unique combination of flow, chunk, traction, and scenery that makes Gooseberry Mesa unlike anywhere else. It's also located just a short distance from Virgin, Utah, home to the legendary Red Bull Rampage venue. But while Rampage is all about massive drops, huge jumps, and gravity-defying lines, today's ride is a completely different experience. This is about slowing things down, soaking in the views, navigating technical slickrock, and enjoying some of the most beautiful mountain biking terrain Southern Utah has to offer. Our main route today is the Gander Trail, a 7.7-mile blue-rated intermediate ride that turned out to be an absolute dream. The trail combines technical rock features, smooth sections of flowing singletrack, incredible traction, and nonstop scenery. Along the way, we'll lose roughly 700 feet of elevation while gaining about 300 feet, creating a ride that's constantly changing and keeping things interesting from start to finish. But we're not done there. To finish off this adventure, we're dropping into Grafton Wash, a black diamond trail that delivers a completely different kind of challenge. Fast, steep, loose, and a little intimidating in places, the descent definitely got my attention. The ride down was an absolute thrill, but the climb back out was another story entirely. In fact, I spent a good portion of that climb doing exactly what many riders end up doing in Grafton Wash—walking my bike and grinding my way back to the top one step at a time. It wasn't easy, but it was absolutely worth every ounce of effort. When everything was said and done, today's ride covered 10.8 miles with 900 feet of climbing and 1,152 feet of descending, making it the perfect finale to an unforgettable four-part tour of Southwestern Utah. This region continues to impress me every time I visit. Whether you're a beginner looking for scenic desert singletrack, an intermediate rider chasing flow and slickrock, or an advanced rider searching for technical challenges and exposure, the Hurricane, Virgin, and Gooseberry Mesa area truly offers something for every mountain biker. So sit back, relax, and join me as we explore one of Utah's most legendary mountain bike trails. This is Gooseberry Mesa, the Gander Trail, and Grafton Wash—and it's one incredible way to end an amazing Southwestern Utah adventure. #MountainBiking #GooseberryMesa #GooseberryMesaMTB #GanderTrail #GraftonWash #HurricaneUtah #VirginUtah #UtahMountainBiking #SouthernUtah #MTB #MountainBike #Singletrack #Slickrock #ZionNationalPark #RedBullRampage #MTBLife #MTBAdventure #MountainBikeUtah #DesertSingletrack #WhereUBeans
