'Just finish the job' | President Donald Trump talks Iran conflict, U.S. strikes after NATO Summit

President Donald Trump said the U.S. is prepared to "just finish the job" in Iran as he defended renewed U.S. military strikes, as well as vowing that Tehran will never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon. "Let's just finish the job," Trump said during a news conference on Wednesday, while praising his administration's military campaign as "a tremendous success." Trump also described Iran as "the bully of the Middle East" and said he believes he remains the country's top target. "I'm number one on their kill list," Trump said. "They're scum. His remarks came as the administration continued to defend recent strikes against Iranian targets, saying they were launched in response to attacks on commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's busiest maritime trade routes. During the news briefing, Trump also said the NATO summit in Turkey was "very successful," saying the event was marked by unity among member nations. "I want to thank President Erdogan, who's really a great man. He's a great leader. He's a friend of mine," Trump said, in part. "And I also want to thank NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Mark is an extraordinary person" he added, also noting that "there was tremendous love in that [meeting] room."
