2024 Jikjisa Flower Pots Jikjisa Temple is a thousand-year-old temple located in Daehang-myeon, Gimcheon-si. Currently, the bright red flower pots at Jikjisa Temple are in full bloom, captivating visitors. The flower pots, a harbinger of autumn, are a perennial plant in the Amaryllidaceae family, officially known as "seoksan." Because the flowers and leaves bloom at different times, never meeting, the flower's sad meaning is "unfulfilled love." The flower pots are commonly found around temples. It is said that their roots contain preservatives, which, when crushed and applied to Buddhist paintings or Dancheong (traditional Korean painting), prevent moths and fading. In 2019, Gimcheon City planted 210,000 flower pots along the walking paths from the entrance of Jikjisa Temple to Mansegyo Bridge.
