Arasaka: Cyberpunk's Most Evil Corporation - Lore & History EXPLAINED | Cyberpunk Lore
Perhaps no other corporation in the Cyberpunk universe has a history as extensive and twisted as Arasaka. Today, we delve into the lore and history of this iconic fictional megacorporation! _______________ CORRECTION: There is another event in Arasaka history I ought to have mentioned within this video: Kei Arasaka is said to have soulkilled his brother Yorinobu on September 24th, 2022, with his engram found by Strike Team Beta during the AHQ Disaster on August 20th, 2023. These developments are mentioned in Firestorm: Shockwave, but while their canonicity is still somewhat debatable, Maximum Mike, the radio host from Cyberpunk 2077, based on and played by Cyberpunk-creator Mike Pondsmith, has offered a level of validity to these events. In his radio program, Mike claims that the Yorinobu Arasaka of 2077 cannot be authentic, as Yorinobu is thought to have died during the Fourth Corporate War. One of the theories he offers to explain Yorinobu's return is that Arasaka used cloning tech to create a new copy of the man. Coincidentally, cloning equipment was also recovered along with Yorinobu's engram in Firestorm Shockwave. If this theory is to be believed, and made to represent something more than a simple nod to earlier material, than the story of Saburo and Yorinobu making amends at Kei's funeral would have been a falsehood disseminated to avoid suspicion, as Mike asserts. _______________ Arasaka - Cyberpunk's Most Evil Corporation Lore & History EXPLAINED | Cyberpunk Lore 0:00 Introduction 2:15 The Beginning (1859-1915) 3:52 Birth of an Empire (1915-1960) 9:27 Saburo Takes Over (1960-2000) 14:38 New Markets & The Chinese Affairs (2000-2013) 19:22 Alt Cunningham & Soulkiller (2013-2016) 23:11 Yorinobu's Rebellion & Kei as CEO (2016-2020) 27:20 The Fourth Corporate War Begins (2020-2023) 33:44 Kei's Death & The End of the Fourth Corporate War (2023-2025) 36:05 Rebuilding & Michiko's Story (2025-2045) 39:35 Factions & Reentering the NUSA (2045-2071) 42:40 The Early 2070's (2071-2076) 44:03 The ESA Killings & The Release of The Relic (2077) 45:42 Saburo's Killing (2077) 48:45 Taka Faction Uprising & Cyberpunk 2077 Endings (2077) 56:23 Closing Thoughts 57:39 Outro Thanks for your continued support :) __________________ My second channel: @everberon2 __________________ Music: --- Extraction Action -- Cyberpunk 2077 --- Cloudy Day -- Cyberpunk 2077 --- Kang Tao Down -- Cyberpunk 2077 --- Streetfighters -- Cyberpunk 2077 --- The Sacred and The Profane -- Cyberpunk 2077
