Tapping Oil Pickup Threads, Installing Heads & Timing Belt | EJ253 Swap Part 3

Welcome back to Street Wrench Garage! In Part 3 of the EJ253 swap into my 1998 Subaru Impreza coupe, we finally start putting this engine back together. After running into stripped oil pickup mounting holes in the last episode, I tap the threads so the pickup can finally be installed correctly. From there it's time to install the resurfaced EJ251 heads, torque everything down, and get the timing belt installed. Every step gets us closer to the first startup. In this episode: 🔧 Tapping the oil pickup mounting holes 🔧 Installing the EJ251 cylinder heads 🔧 Torquing the head bolts 🔧 Installing the timing belt and components 🔧 More progress on the EJ253 swap This build is all about doing the work yourself, solving problems as they come up, and showing the entire process—the good and the bad.
