In 2007, Roda Viva hosted Mano Brown, a singer and one of the biggest names in Brazilian rap. In one of the few interviews he agreed to give to the media, the rapper stated that it is the favela communities that end the violence, not the police. He also spoke about drugs, politics, and his rejection of being a role model for young people. The panel of interviewers consisted of José Nêumanne, Maria Rita Kehl, Paulo Lima, Paulo Lins, Renato Lombardi, and Ricardo Franca Cruz.
